General information: Sirleshtovata Kashta was built in 16th century and is one of the oldest houses in Bansko. It was once home to the first Bulgarian bank called KIMERA where the wealthy traders have left chests filled with gold when traveling abroad. The house was like a fortress and withheld attacks of crimes. In the basement there are tunnels leading to different places in town.
During the Turkish rule the house was often a safe place for haiduti and names such as Yane Sandanski, Gotse Delchev and Peio Yavorov. The first secret revolutionary organization was established here and the decision for the bloody Ilinden revolution was made in the house as well.
The mahan as it is today has inherited those ancient traditions in the dishes, beverages and good service all of which are consequence of the old story. The good guests here are in good hands, they can eat and drink, have fun listening to Macedonian music while the old stones whisper the wisdom of time.
